Ado-Odo/Ota Africa Democratic Party Members Kicks, Threatens To Dump Party Over Choice Of House Of Assembly Candidate

Members of Africa Democratic Party in Ado-Odo/Ota has threatened to dump the party over the choice of House of Assembly candidate fielded in by a fraction in the party.  Hon. Oyenekan Fatai Abiodun a.k.a Visafone believed to be an Egba man from Abeokuta who according to a reliable source from the party was imposed on the Local Government party members without adequate consultations.

This was made known to newsmen by the party Chairman, Otunba Lukmon Adewole in company of other excos at the Local Government party secretariat in Ota on Tuesday. Otunba Lukmon kicked against what he called imposition of the House of Assembly candidate on party members without consulting relevant stakeholders in the party.

VOA News had earlier gathered that Hon. Akinbo Bukola Idiat, an indigene of Ota was unanimously picked through six out of eight ward congresses to fly the party’s House of Assembly kite in the 2019 election. The decision was however upturned by some factions of the party in connivance with the party’s top echelons in Abeokuta and the name of Hon.Idiat Akinbo was substituted with Hon. Oyenekan Fatai.

VOA News correspondent also gathered that Hon. Fatai Abiodun conducted a kangaroo primary election by himself in only two wards, viz: Atan and Ilogbo wards out of the available eight wards in the Local Government.

Aggrieved Members has however threatened to dump the party over what they believed to be a ‘daylight robbery’ of the people’s choice.
