Fire Guts Lagos Warehouse, Destroys Goods
Fire razed the Peacegate Warehouse located on plot 40/42 Ilupeju Industrial Avenue, Ilupeju, Lagos at about 11am on Sunday.
The inferno was said to have destroyed goods worth several millions of naira. It was learnt that thick smokes from the facility caused panic among residents of the area, who feared that the fire could spread to their buildings.
Newsmen learnt that the warehouse served as a storage facility for companies like Kenvee Nigeria Limited, Taana Limited, Pramansons Global Company Limited and Mashabros & Sons Limited, all of which reportedly lost goods to the inferno.
Although the cause of the fire had yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, the Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Musibau Rasaki, who cautioned Lagosians to avoid heat-generated fire, said no casualty was recorded.
He said, “The fire call was received at 11am; the Bolade Fire Station arrived at 11:10am, while the Ilupeju and Alausa Fire Stations arrived at 11:15am.
