148 Students Graduates From Hon. Akinpelu Aina’s Summer ICT Program

Ota city resource centre today graduated 148 students in the 5th batch of summer coaching ICT program facilitated by the Chairman, Ogun State House Committee on health and honorable representing Ota State Constituency 1, Hon. Nurudeen Akinpelu Aina.

The event which happened amidst fun fare had in attendance the initiator, Hon. Aina, Ota City Resource Centre tutors, political women leaders and hosts of others.

In a chat with VOA news, Hon. Aina said that the program is the 10th of its kinds and it is aimed at taking the students away from the streets during their long vacation.  He emphasized the increasing trend of using students as emergency street hawkers, more so, idleness which initiates crimes as the reason for embarking on the initiative. He added that the program is in fulfillment of one out of his campaign promises. In his words, “The 148 students being graduated today have added to the tally of over 2,000 students that has benefited from the initiative over the past 4 years. The program has captured University graduates, undergraduates, artisans, Secondary School students and even married men and women. A 71- year old man has benefited from the initiative in time past”.


Hon. Aina told our correspondent that the program is open to all and sundry, in as much as the necessary requirement is met. Further speaking, he said that indigenes and non indigenes have been a part of the program.

He lamented that burglary is one of the challenges the ICT is facing as the it has been burgled severally and numerous facilities carted away. He then advised the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the resource centre and that they should reflect the knowledge they have been imparted during the training exercise.


One of the graduating students who spoke with our correspondent had the initiator of the program to thank for his humanitarian effort. He urged the honorable not to relent in his quest at making sure that his constituency remains at top position which it has found itself over the past four years.
