An accident involving a Tipper and a Motorcycle around 8:10 am on Monday has left at least, two people dead and two other critically injured.
VOA News gathered that the accident, which occured in front of De United Foods Industries Ltd, along Idiroko expressway, Ota involved a blue Honda Motorcycle with registration number LAR 935 WT conveying two passengers, all male and a white and blue colour Iveco Tipper with registration number XA977JBD.
According to an eye witness, ‘the ghastly accident occured when a Motorcyclist carrying two passengers in an attempt to meandre the traffic gridlock up along Oju-ore, crossed the space in between the medium to the other lane, not taking cognizance that the truck fully loaded with granite was approaching,
ran into it and got severely ridden over, leaving the Motorcyclist and one of its passengers dead on the spot’.
Our correspondent gathered that remains of the deceased has been deposited at Ifo morgue while those who
sustained injury were rescued by combined efforts from men of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) and taken to the General Hospital, Onipanu, Ota.
While confirming the incidence to VOA News correspondent, TRACE Area Commander, Ajibade, advised motorists avoid illegal use of highway. He advised motorcyclists who are fond of defiling traffic rules to desist from such as his men would no longer condone such lawless acts.
