Ado-Odo/Ota House Committee On Education On Assessment Tour Visits Schools In Ota

The House Committee on Education in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government went on assessment tour to schools in and around the Local Government to assess the states of infrastructural facilities, human capacities and the general well being of the students.

One of such visits was at Mercy of God Schools, Alasia along Ilogbo road, Ota, Ogun State on Thursday 17th of May, 2018.The House Committee, led by Hon.Azeez Abimbola, in company of the leader of the house, Hon. Yomi Jodah, Hon. Talabi Monsuru and Hon. Opaleye Jamiu Akinola said the purpose of the visit was to carry out on the field assessment of the facilities and to sensitize the School management on the need to properly scrutinize tax consultants before any levy or tax is met.

Speaking with VOA News Correspondent, Hon. Yomi  Jodah expressed his satisfaction with the facilities on ground coupled with the conducive serene for learning which the School possess. He added that the delegation had gone round Schools across the town, while some of them were below expectation; some surpassed the average standard that is required of Schools. He further emphasized that he is satisfied with the current state of education in Ota, citing the likes of The Ambassadors, Ota Total Academy and Scholars Universal Schools as pacemakers for other Schools.

The Proprietor of the School, Mr. Martins Oluwole expressed satisfaction on the assessment visit of the delegation. He said that the School’s facilities were assessed and they felt satisfied with what they met on ground without inducing them. He lamented the decadence in education in Nigeria, attributing Private Schools to only the sector that is still flying the kites of educational advancement in the country.
