Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Commissions Eleven Projects, Flags Off Free Medical Services

The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, High Chief Bashiru Oladele Adeniji today commissioned eleven projects embarked upon by his administration within the Local Government area.

The commissioning which was slated alongside free medical check up for indigenes and residents of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government was aimed at delivering quality service to the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.

High Chief Bashiru Oladele, while delivering his speech at the commissioning ceremony, said the projects being commissioned were in furtherance to the main function of the local government as the third tier of government, which is to care for the citizens at the grassroot level.

Reiterating that the betterment of the indigenes and residents of the Local Government has been the utmost concern of his administration. Hence, in the last two and half years, his administration had taken tremendous steps to execute multiple projects despite the financial constraints it faced.

The projects commissioned are as follows; Reconstruction of a block of 4 classrooms with office and ante room at A.U.D. Practicing School II, Ota, sinking of Borehole with Generating Set at Papa-Aro, Ota, sinking of Borehole with Generating set at Ago Ishaga Market, Ota, construction of Box Culvert at Olosun, Ota, renovation of Tuberculosis’ Treatment cedntre/NLC Office in the Local Government Secretariat, Ota, renovation of Legislative Chamber in the Local Government Secretariat, Ota, excavation and grading of Tajudeen Aro road linking other C.D.A. communities, Ota, excavation and grading of GT Bank/ Nice Estate Road, Ota, distribution of 4,000 Exercise books to primary school pupils in Ado-Odo/Ota LG, flag off of free medical treatment/drugs to the residents (Rural Health Scheme) in Ota, commencement of total renovation of Ota Eid praying ground.(Effective from this week).

VOA News gathered that through the commitment and dedication of the staff of the local government, the local government had received several awards amongst which included; Award of excellence in Epidemic Outbreak Response 2018, presented by Epidemiology Unit, Department of Public Health, Ogun State Ministry of Health, Award of Excellence as the most resilient and consistent marriage registry of the year 2018 presented by Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Award of Excellence as the most resilient and consistent marriage registrar of the year 2018 presented by Ogun State Local Government Service Commission.

The Olota of Ota, HRM Oba (Prof.) Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege was duly represented by the Ekerin of Ota, High Chief Osunlabi, other Royal Fathers, High Chiefs, Party Chieftains and the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government graced the occasion.
