Typical of a society wedding was the holy matrimony between Oluwajinde and his other half, Oluwayemi on Saturday at the Rhema Christian Church and Towers, Temidire, Sango-Ota in Ogun State.
The traditional wedding was held few days ago at Pathsment Hall, along Ilogbo road, Ota in Ogun state.
Before the duo finally tied the knot on Saturday, they had courted for almost 3 years, as gathered by VOA Entertainment correspondent.
While delivering the sermon, the minister in charge of Rhema Christian Church and Towers, Pastor Tofunmi Opaleye admonished the newly wedded couple to always live in accordance with the laid down principle which God has given mankind, as it was the only way their marriage could be devoid of problems.
Pator Opaleye charged the bride to always tolerate, endure and love her husband’s family if she hopes to stay with her husband forever. He, encouraged the husband to see a new friend in his wife. He however, charged the new couple to always take their matters to God in times of challenges.
Shortly after the holy union, friends, families and well wishers all defiled the heavy downpour to join the couple for merry making at the newly built Shield Convention Centre at Osi round about, Ota.
While speaking with VOA Entertainment correspondent, the groom, Oluwajinde Adeogun, grandson of late APC Chairman in Ogun state, late Alh. Roqeeb Adeniji, he expressed confidence in the choice of his wife in that she is very caring and loving. “I am really lucky and happy to have her as my wife, she is very caring and loving. She is also hardworking and God fearing”. Mr. Adeogun urged his wife to tolerate him at all times as he hopes that the marriage lasts till forever. \
In her own words, the bride, Mrs Oluwayemisi Adeogun who obviously could not hide her feelings when speaking with our correspondent, praised her husband for enduring her through trying times. “I really don’t know where to begin, my husband, my crown is an amazing person. He is loving, God fearing and ambitious. I thank him for standing by me through thick and thin.”
The groom’s mother, the Yeyeluwa of Ota, Chief Mrs Olukemi Adeogun, expressed optimism that the marriage will last forever. “I am sure and I pray that the marriage last forever. I have taught my child in the way of God. He is God fearing and dedicated to his work. Moreover, I have known my daughter-in-law for sometimes now and I haven’t seen any strange attitude with her. So, they are definitely going to live together forever. That is our prayer.” She said.
Mrs Margaret Ahmed, the groom’s Aunty who spoke with our correspondent said that the couple is prayerful and that is no doubt going to take them places. She advised the newly wedded couple to see God as their first point of call in trying times as He alone can resolve all issues.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Ogun state, Engr. Dr. Mrs Noimot Oyedele-Salako, the Olota of Ota, HRM Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Mr. Kunle Somorin led other political and traditional heads to the event.
