Court Strikes Out Gbohun’s Motion To Set Aside High Court Ruling In Favour Of Ota

The High Court Sitting in Shagamu on Tuesday, 8th of November dismissed a motion filed by Mr. Adebayo Gbohun, the self acclaimed Onisango of Sango, Ota to set aside the court’s ruling in favour of Ota earlier in May, 2016.

Mr Gbohun and other respondents/defendants in the suit file HCT/126/12 prayed the court to set aside the ruling in favour of the claimants/applicants to enable them bring in a new lawyer to defend their case.

This motion was however discountenanced owning to the fact that the said lawyer was not presented at the commencement of the case which is against the statutory conduct of the law.

It will be recalled that Hon. Justice E.O. Oshinuga of the Shagamu High Court in suit NO. HCT/126/12 on 25th May, 2016 delivered a judgement in favour of Awori (Sango-Otta). The (Claimant’s/Applicants) involved in this case are 1.OBA ALANI OYEDE, THE LATE OLOTA OF OTTA, 2. APOSTLE OLUSOLA ARINKU (for himself & representative of Oojabi family of Otta, 3. CHIEF ADEBOWALE AKILO (for Ajego family of Otta) 4, Ganiu Ajayi (Ebiti family Otta) 5, Sabitu Omiyale (Omiyale family of Otta).

Respondents/Defendants are 1. OBA OLUSANYA ADEGBOYEGA (OLOWU OF OWU) 2. Gboun Adebayo (the illegal Onisango of Sango Otta), 3. Governor of Ogun, 4. Attorney Gen of Ogun. 5 Ogun state Commissioner for L.G & chieftaincy affairs. 6. Commissioner of Police Ogun, 7. Area commander Sango Otta. Respondent 3, 4 & 5 denied knowing anything about the installation.
