The Lagos State Government has confirmed fifty-nine new Coronavirus cases on Wednesday.
The State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi disclosed this on his Twitter page.
Abayomi said the State now has 438 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
He tweeted, “59 new #COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Lagos on April 21, 2020.
“Total number of confirmed #COVID-19 cases in Lagos now stands at 438.
“5 of the cases previously reported in Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State.”
“Total #COVID-19 cases transferred out of Lagos are now 8.
“The cheering news is that 9 more fully recovered #COVID-19 Lagos patients; 5 females and 4 males including a foreign national; polish have been discharged after testing negative to further #COVID-19 screening.”
Meanwhile, NCDC on Tuesday confirmed that Nigeria recorded 117 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, Daily Post reports.
NCDC said it recorded 59 in Lagos, 14 in Kano, 29 in FCT, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 31 in Ogun, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Rivers.
