COVID-19: LG Shuts Health Centre As Workers Test Positive

The Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, has shut Meiran Primary Health Centre, Meiran, after members of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

Mosunmola Olabige, the Chief Press Secretary to the LCDA Chairman, David Famuyiwa, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, titled, ‘COVID-19: Council Chairman Close Down Meiran PHC.’

The statement quoted Famuyiwa as shutting down the health centre to curb the spread of the virus among other workers and patients.

“The chairman also ordered the immediate contact tracing of their colleagues and associates, as well as patients who visited the facility in the last few days.

“He also used the medium to admonish community members to take responsibility for their health and life by avoiding social events that attract large gatherings and by adhering strictly to laid down guidelines on the use of face masks, regular hand-washing and the use of sanitisers, maintaining adequate social distancing while in public places in order to flatten the curve of the pandemic,” the statement added.
