Electorates In Ado-Odo/ Ota Advised To Shun Parties That Lack Federal Contacts

Electorates in Ado Odo/Ota have been urged to shun political parties whose main ideology was carved out for selfish interests only as they do not mean well for the people. The statement was made at the on-going tour of All Progressives Congress across sixteen wards in the Ado-Odo/Ota local government on Thursday.

It will be recalled that the ward to ward tour of the party started on 2nd of February, 2019 at the Ado-Odo 1 and Ishoki/Ere wards of the local government.

During the party’s visit to Hausa community in Atan/Iju ward, Alhaji Abdullahi Tanku, leader of the Hausa community expressed his displeasure at the manner at which issues affecting Hausa community in the local government has been handled by previous administrations. He urged the candidates of APC to see to the needs of his people when elected to various offices in the forth coming elections.

The House of Representatives member seeking return to the green chamber, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele, while responding to the demands of the Hausa community in the local government, assured that their needs would be met if re-elected into power. Adding that their leader at the top, President Muhammadu Buhari is also an Hausa man and has the interest of the Hausa community at heart. He however, urged electorates in Ado-Odo/Ota to shun parties which lack political contacts as dividends of democracy gets to the people more easier when they vote in the same political party with the one at the centre.

In a visit to the Onikooko of Kooko Ebiye, HRH Oba Joel Fashina and his Chiefs, the candidates of the party urged the Onikooko in council to convince their people to cast their votes for the ruling APC in that it would be almost impossible to get good governance if there are different political parties across different tiers of Government in the country. “We urge you to vote for the party at the centre so that dividends of democracy can reach everyone”.

In his response, Oba Joel Fashina said that his people will vote for the APC, but they should endeavor to not renege on their own part of the bargain, when elected into power.

While addressing the gathering of Baales in Iju/Ota, Baale of Onibuku, Chief Abraham Bankole emphasized that Ado Odo/Ota decides who becomes the Governor of Ogun State because of their voting strength and the association of Baales in Ado-Odo/ Ota are united and are going to cast their votes for the candidates of APC because of the Deputy Governorship candidate, Engr. Mrs Noimot Oyedele Salako who is from the same local government with them.

The house of assembly candidate of APC in Ado Odo/Ota 1 State Constituency, Hon. Sherif Yusuf (Ibeman), in his response, implored the Baales to ensure their people vote for the APC in the forthcoming election. He however promised that they would not be forgotten if given their mandates.

VOA News correspondent, in an interview with various electorates across Atan/Iju ward gathered that the popularity of the ruling APC is a major factor with which the candidates of the party is going to benefit massively from in the forthcoming general elections.
