Hon.Oladimeji Bakare (Jah Jah) Bags Honorary Doctoral Award, Chief Olagbaye, Alhaji Olusesi, Others Bags Community Service Awards

A house of Assembly hopeful, Hon. Oladimeji Bakare, popularly known as Jah jah was conferred with Honorary Doctoral Award by the Western Ville University, San Diego, California in United States of America.

An event that was well attended had the Chairman, Ogun State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Adesoji Suraj Olusesi, two times Commissioner of Finance in Lagos State, Asiwaju Muhammad Olagbaye, African President of Chartered Institute of Arts Management and Professionals, Professor Prince Chidi Nwauba, among other several dignitaries who graced the event at the Multipurpose Hall, Centre for Entrepreneurial Development Centre, Covenant University, Ota on Saturday 21st July, 2018.

The Keynote speaker, Professor Amuda Kannike Abiodun, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, while delivering his address titled, “The Practice of Entrepreneurship and its Legal Issues” advised entrepreneurs to always adhere to the law in dealing with their activities. He also canvassed the government to re-sharpen the laws guiding entrepreneurs in order to encourage them.

In an interview with VOA News correspondent, Dr. Obanla Adebayo, the Executive Officer of Kingstars Entrepreneurship and Management Consultants which co hosted the event on why the honourary Doctoral and Community Service awards were conferred on the beneficiaries, he said that they all merited the awards. He added that the institute saddled with the responsibility of training entrepreneurs has placed the beneficiaries under close surveillance for a reliable number of years before they were eventually nominated for the awards. He charged the awardees to not relent in their efforts at encouraging entrepreneurship in the country. He also charged the Federal Government to make available soft loans for those that have chosen to be employers of labours as against contributing to the gross underemployment which avails in the country.

One of the beneficiaries, Hon. Oladimeji Bakare, while speaking with our correspondent, expressed his unrivaled happiness at the award. He said that the Honourary Doctoral award which was conferred on him was well merited. He added that he was just going about his normal humanitarian gestures, viz; fixing public Primary School’s dilapidated facility, facilitating different empowerment programs and was in oblivion that the organizers were noticing his activities.

The house of Assembly hopeful said that the award was going to further fuel his quest for carrying out humanitarian gestures and that he was not going to get tired anytime soon.

Other beneficiaries of the award in the Community Service category included; two times Lagos State Commissioner of Finance, Asiwaju Muhammad Olagbayi, Chairman, Ogun State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Suraj Adesoji Olusesi, High Chief Oseni Obanla, the Afose of Igbesa, among several others.
