Nine students across three different schools in Ota who made the final stage of the National Mathematics Cowbellpedia competition were yesterday, 5th of February hosted by the Iganmode club of Ota.
It will be recalled that The Ambassadors College students won the edition of the competition in both Junior and Senior categories. Meanwhile, Students from Ota Total Academy and Scholars Universal Secondary School, both from Ota made the final round of the most competitive academic contest in Nigeria and arguably, Africa.
The President of the club, Prince Keke Obalanlege, a former Princal of Iganmode Gramnmar School, previous winner of same competition expressed his delightment with the students and management of the schools. He however, charged the students not to relent in their academic quests.
Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Hon Dele B. Adeniji, Hon. Aina Nurudeen Akinpelu, representing Ota State Constituency 1 in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Chief B. A Osunlabu, the Ekerin of Ota, Chief Akinsanya, the Ajana of Ota, Chief Wasiu Olawale Akilo, Baale of Sango-Ota, representative of Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in the State, Mrs Modupe Mujota were among other dignitaries who received the awardees.
The awardees includes; Juliet Ekoko, Ayooluwa Oguntade, Oluwatunmise Idowu, Ore-ofe Daniel, Taiwo Adeyemi, Udoh Eno-Obong Blessing, Fatoke Ademola, Adeyanju Hasana, Okoli Glory.
Their teachers and proprietors were also honoured at the event.
