Lawmaker Cries Out Over Alleged Killing Of Constituent By Suspected Herdsmen In Ogun, Oyo Border

The lawmaker representing Odeda State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Oludaisi Elemide has cried out over the alleged killing of one of his constituents by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Elemide said the incident happened at Olokemeji-Olowo, a boundary between Ogun and Oyo States recently.

The lawmaker raised the alarm at plenary, under Personal Explanation at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta on Tuesday.

He said the resident was killed when he raised the alarm about the presence of the herdsmen in their area.

Elemide intimated the Assembly “on the unlawful invasion of Olokemeji-Olowo by the herdsmen, who killed the resident while raising an alarm on their presence near a forest reserve.”

Reacting, the Speaker of the Ogun Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, tasked the State Government to dislodge bandits from the forest reserve at Olokemeji-Olowo through a more coordinated joint security operation.
