Motorists, Commuters Lament Hardship Caused By Road Rehabilitation At Old Toll Gate, Ota

The current situation of vehicle movement along Tollgate, Dalemo axis of Sango Ota in Ogun state can be described as ‘critical’, as the rehabilitation of road ongoing in the axis has forced motorists and commuters to seek alternative routes amidst price hike and inconveniences caused by the rehabilitation.


During a visit by VOA News Correspondent, Samuel Taiwo to Sango, Ota axis to ascertain the speed at which the rehabilitation is being carried out and to sample the opinion of commuters and motorists, most of the people spoken with lamented the untold hardship which they face in trying to navigate through alternative routes to their various destinations.

According to a motorist at Bible College bus stop who identified himself simply as ‘Pure water’, said it is the government that is doing everything and we don’t have any choice but to wait as we don’t have any other job and I hope they do it well so our grandkids and theirs can make use of it.

Meanwhile, the traffic situation at noon around Dalemo – Sango to Joju bus stop was calm as vehicles were seen moving to and fro easily.


Sango under the bridge to Oju-Ore axis was very busy due to the ongoing road rehabilitation at the old Toll gate area of the local government, motorists are plying the road as an alternative route.


According to a TRACE Officer, Lanre Adeniji stationed at Sango, Ota who confided in our Correspondent, he said the construction at the old Toll gate axis made the area very busy. While advising road users to work hand in hand with the traffic officers so as to ensure free flow of traffic in the area.
