New Dawn In Ipokia As Prince Olusola Adeniyi Olaniyi Emerges The 49th Oba

Prince Olusola Adeniyi Olaniyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Afro-Heritage Entertainment Company and the President/Chairman of AHBE awards, Houston Texas, USA has just emerged as the 49th Onipokia of Ipokia.

His selection as the new Oba was ratified after the whole five kingmakers in the town unanimously voted him to succeed the late monarch, HRM Oba Raufu Adeole who joined his ancestors in 2016, beating the father of the Ogun State Allied People’s Movement (APM) gubernatorial candidate in the last election, Rtd. Major Akinlade and five other contestants.

While announcing Prince Yisa Adeniyi the winner of the keenly contested election, the Secretary of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Apari Emmanuel, said Prince Yisa polled a total of 5 votes out of the possible five and is hereby declared the Oba elect.

VOA News gathered that seven candidates, viz; Rtd. Major Akinlade, Ganiu Adelani Asade, Semiu Asade, Sunday Abiodun Adelakun, Akeem Oteni, Kayode Okewole and Yisa Adeniyi Adelakun jostled for the position; while the later, Prince Yisa Adeniyi Adelakun defeated other candidates to emerge the winner.

Our correspondent gathered that the Obaship position is rotated among four ruling houses; Iwaye Sipaola, Iwaye Dodo, Iwaye Dapale and Iwaye Ikemo, while the new Oba emerged from the Iwaye Dodo ruling house after Iwaye Sipaola had produced the last Oba.

The 49 year old Oba elect was born on September 5, 1970 to the family of Late Prince Hamzat Akanbi and Madam Muyibat Olaniyan at Ilashe Compound of Ipokia, VOA News learnt.

Prince Yisa is currently employed with an oil & gas company, Emerson Process Management as a Quality Control Inspector in Houston Texas, United States of America. He is also the CEO of Afro-Heritage Entertainment Company and the President/Chairman of the reputable AHBE awards; also in Houston Texa. VOA News gathered.

Speaking with our correspondent shortly after his emergence, the Oba elect, Prince YIsa Adeniyi, expressed his excitement in his emergence as the next Onipokia of Ipokia. He commended the people of Ipokia for making the right choice. He however, promised the people of Ipokia speedy development as the town has been long left unexplored.

He advised his running mates to work together with him so as to take the town to the next level.

In a chat with one of the indigenes of Ipokia, Adegbite Rasheed, expressed satisfaction in the choice of Prince Yisa as the new Oba of Ipokia in that his wealth of experience and exposure will be of immense benefit to the town and Ogun state at large.

Some of the women who spoke with our correspondent could not hide their feelings as they resolved to singing and dancing to melodious choruses. While also expressing their satisfaction in the choice of Oba Adeniyi, they advised him to listen to their plights and take the youth’s welfare as paramount during his reign.

The kingmakers who unanimously elected Prince Adeniyi included; High Chief Dada Ogabi, High Chief Bolaji Ojo, High Chief Egbeyemi Fatai, High Chief Adefalu Alabi and High Chief Abdulrahman Okiji.
