New Ultra-Modern Palace Of Olota Of Ota Gets Underway

Barely six months after the demise of the late Olota of Ota, HRH Oba Moshood Alani Oyede Aroloagbade III, the foundation of a new ultra modern palace of the Olota was today, 6th of February laid.

The project was facilitated by the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial district, Senator Gbolahan Joseph Dada.

According to the Senator, the project is expected to near completion in the next six months. He also assured that it will be roofed within the next three to four months.

While speaking with VOA, the Senator indemnified that the new ultra modern palace is expected to have in it, some infrastructural facilities viz: Lawn tennis court, Basket ball court, Study, among others.

The site Engineer, Architect Gbenga Oladeinde confided in VOA that the new palace is expected to surpass the structure of some of the palaces he has visited in time past. He highlighted the Alake of Egba, Awujale of Ijebu, Olu of Ilaro and the new Ooni of Ife’s palaces as some of the palaces the new Olota’s palace is expected to surpass in terms of structural facilities after its completion.

The Chairman, Regency council and the Ekerin of Ota, Chief B.A Osunlabu appreciates the presence of the Baales and the Chiefs present at the ground breaking ceremony. He lauded the effort of the ruling house, Ijemo/Isoloshi that donated the piece of land to house the project. He further lamented that the late Olota of Ota did not witness the construction of the new palace. On the news which is making round in the social media about the Installation of an Egba man as Oniju of Iju, Ota, he urged the people of Ota, especially the youths to be mindful of the credibility of the information they spread. Adding that they should endeavor to carry out investigating journalism before they circulate any news information on the social media. Lastly, he commended the effort of the Senator for facilitating the construction of the new palace. Adding that such project is long overdue.

Honourable Aina Akinpelu, in his own speech, appreciates the effort of the Senator for the project. He further added that Awori, especially, Ota has started witnessing tremendous progress since the past four days, starting from the launching of Voice of Awori, to the hosting of nine finalists of the Cowbellpedia Mathematics competition by the Iganmode club of Ota and first Ota fashion show which was held at Mokland hotels over the weekend.

The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, while speaking with VOA, expressed his heart felt joy for the commencement of the project. In his own speech, the Ajana of Ota could not hide his feelings on the new development, adding that the people of Ota had long anticipated such move.

The ceremony had in attendance notable dignitaries in Awori land. Some of which were; Senator Gbolahan Dada, Hon. Aina Akinpelu, Commissioner Aiyedogbon, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Com. Dele Adeniji and his Ado-Odo and Sango/Ijoko LCDA counterparts, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government councilors, Olota in council Chiefs, Prince Lekan Fadina, former DG, Nigerian Stocks Exchange, Chief Imam of Ota, Anglican church clergy, Chief Oloponda, among other notable dignitaries.
