Nigerian Customs Frontier Patrol Vehicle Ram Into A Truck While In Hot Pursuit Of A Rice Smuggler At Onihale
A vehicle belonging to Nigerian Customs Service has in the early hours of Tuesday, ran into a Truck at Onihale area, along Lagos/Abeouta expressway, Sango, Ota, Ogun state while in hot pursuit of a suspected rice smuggler plying one way.
The accident which occured in the early hours of Tuesday, has left at least, four people injured.
VOA News Correspondent gathered that the Customs Frontier patrol vehicle with registration number A-72CS which was in hot pursuit of a suspected rice smuggler, lost control and rammed into an upcoming white coloured Volvo Truck with registration number AAB 438 ZY, an event which made the Truck suddenly applied brake causing two other trucks; a blue coloured MAN Truck with registration number FST 936 XY and an ash coloured IVECO Truck with an unknown registration number hitting it from behind.
According to Ajiboso M. O who made the news available to newsmen on behalf of TRACE PRO, Babatunde Akinbiyi, four people, including two Customs Officers were confirmed injured out of possible twelve that were involved in the accident, while no case of death was recorded as at the time of filing this report.
Those injured have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment while colleagues of injured Customs Officers have taken them away for medical treatments. VOA News Correspondent gathered.
