Ogun Majority Leader, Hon. Sheriff Yusuf (Ibeman) Donates Free School Buses To Students In Ota

Ogun State House of Assembly Majority leader, Honourable Sheriff Yusuf, popularly referred to as Ibeman, has on Monday, donated three free school buses to students in Ado-Odo/Ota state constituency 1.

The launching, which was well attended by top political and traditional echelons in Ogun state took place at Ota recreational centre.

Hon. Ibeman, while delivering his keynote address, said the main motive of launching the initiative was to encourage and motivate the students back to school after COVID-19 closure.

He said it was also to provide safe and convenient ride to and from to school.

He further used Nelson Mandela’s quote that ‘education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world’ as his source of inspiration.

He thanked the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele, Chief Durojaye Aiyedogbon, Sen. Akin Odunsi, Prince Gbolahan Dada for believing in him as well as Rt. Olakunle Oluomo for his mentorship.

While commending the effort of the initiative, the Olota of Ota, Prof. Adeyemi Obalalenge said he was impressed with the initiative.

He added that Hon. Ibeman has started on a good note by remembering to deliver effective representation to his constituents and not deciding to enrich himself first. Olota further assured him to not be discouraged as he has a brighter political future ahead of him.

The Ogun state Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Oyedele Salako who was represented by Honorable Sesan Fagbayi, while delivering her goodwill message, implored the teachers and students to make use of the buses judiciously in order not to discourage Hon. Ibeman from doing more.

The Speaker of Ogun state House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, during his own goodwill message, said, he has been extending similar gestures to students in Ifo for over nine years and that Hon. Ibeman would be faced with so many challenges varying from fueling, maintenance, staffing and so on but he should not be disparaged in that it will make the parents to support him the more.

The Ibeman free shuttle bus, as gathered, will operate along sango, Oju-ore, and Ijoko, Ota respectively.

Other dignitaries who graced the event included; former Commissioner in Ogun state, Chief Durojaye Aiyedogbon, Senator Akin Odunsi, Senator Prince Gbolahan Dada, Immediate Head of Service in Ogun state, Mrs Ajibola Amope Chokor, the Onitigbo of Tigbo-Ilu, HRH Oba Victor Taiwo Thomas Fagbayi, among many others.
