Onitetiku Of Owode Ota, HRM Oba AbdulWasiu Ogungbayi Kick Starts Birthday Celebration With Jumat Prayer At Owode Central Mosque
The Onitetiku of Owode, HRM Oba Abdulwasiu Akanni Ogungbayi today began his week long 60th birthday celebration couple with his 6th year coronation anniversary on the throne as the Oba of Owode, Ota.
VOA gathered that the Onijoko of Ijoko, Ota, HRM Oba AbdulFatai Alani Matanmi also joined him fort the Jumat prayer.
The Chairman and Osupa Adinni of Owode central mosque, Hon.(Architect) A.R.O Anifowoshe described the monarch as someone who has always supported the mosque with his resources. He lauded the effort of the monarch for making sure that peace exist in the ancient community.
The monarch while giving his speech appreciated the Onijoko of Ijoko for yielding to his call. He also saluted his courage for fighting and winning so many battles for Ijoko and Awori land as a whole. He charged the Muslim community to always support him through prayers. He further admonished them to endeavor to pay their utility bills, most especially, security charges, in that the community can not be at peace without adequate security.
In his own speech, Oba Matanmi described Oba Ogungbayi as one who has the interest of Awori at heart. He pledged his financial support towards the completion of the Mosque’s building project.
The Chief Imam of Owode central Mosque said that the monarch’s attitudes has made him to identify with the Aworis. He urged the monarch not to relent in his bid to making sure that peace is sustained in the community.
