“We Are Pleading To Governor Amosun To Give Us A Paramount Ruler In Awori Land”  Chief  Benjamin O. Taiwo, Baale Of Araromi,  Ilogbo

The Baale of Araromi Ilogbo, Ota, Chief Benjamin O. Taiwo was the guest the regular Awori Kitigbe segment of Igba Owuro on Hebron 95.9Fm where he pleaded with the executive Governor of the state, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun to look into the issue of the division that exists within the Aworis by providing them their own Paramount ruler just like other zones are currently enjoying in the state.

Chief Benjamin while responding to question on the existence of his community, stated that their progenitor Elebijan who is the father of Ishamel Taiwo came from Ile-Ife and first settled at Oke-Ata from where they moved and settled across other Awori towns.  He added that Elebijan came with a deity called “Omagbo” who was instrumental in curing some ailments before he was instructed to move to another place where he finally settled at Araromi Ilogbo.

The Baale stated that Araromi has been in existence for over 400 years and he is the first Baale of the community. He described Araromi Ilogbo as not too far from Ilogbo Ashowo which is just one kilometer away. He added that they share boundary with Ilogbo Ashowo, Tigbo and Elebute.

Speaking on some of the challenges his community is faced with, the Baale stated that they have no public health care, public and private schools, hence they turn to neighboring communities for their children’s education.

He further called on Governor Amosun to come to their aides and provide them with necessary social amenities; especially schools and public health centres.

The Baale however called on Aworis living in diaspora to come home and invest in Awori land so as to foster progress in the land.
